Join a Working Group
The working groups are open to members and non-members dedicated to
solving some of the most important issues facing children of incarcerated
parents and low-income families in Maryland. These groups are formed
from key advocacy priorities identified by MI’s Committees. Each
working group is chaired by an MI Board member who reports the group’s
strategies to the appropriate committee.
Join a Committee
MI’s Child Advocacy and Workforce Development Committees set the policy
agenda and advocacy priorities for MI. The committees also craft strategies for working to solve a wide variety of issues plaguing our youngest members of society being affected by incarceration and recidivism a well as gaps in our local and state workforce development programs. MI committees are only open to MI members.
Attend a Meeting
We hold regular meetings on a variety of timely topics of special interest to members. These meetings offer
opportunities for networking and provide a forum in which members and others can discuss current community
development issues, dialogue with government officials and learn about current advocacy agendas. We also have
quarterly social events (ice cream socials, donut doozies, pizza party, etc.) to help stay connected with the community helping them see what MI is all about.
