MISTAKEN IDENTITY – When a person is defined or labeled by society based on their ethnicity, appearance or current circumstances such as lack of education, living arrangements, past experiences, etc.
The Mistaken Identity Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3, corporation that raises awareness and funds to help reshape the mindset of low-income citizens and children who have incarcerated parents (C.w.H.I.P.) through our free and low-cost programs and services.
To advocate, support and create productive pathways using emotional intelligence, alternative workforce development skills, vocational education opportunities and job placement.
To help participants understand how to translate their barriers, frustrations, emotions, and fears into a productive lifestyle that benefits them and their community.
Identify real-time gaps in the community, local, state and federal government support services and advocate for necessary reform
Develop strategies that mitigate or greatly reduce the gaps identified
Encourage individual development not group conversion
Notice potential barriers to individual success and create obtainable pathways to education, social and/or services
Team with local and state representatives, as well as news media, to advocate and bring awareness to issues relative to our mission statement
Incorporate business owners and other nonprofits with similar missions to multiply and strengthen resources
Take advantage of grants and contract opportunities that focus on our mission
You-tilize our emotional intelligence and dedicated persistent to generate equality and equity to all members of the community, ensuring circumstances define who people are or what they want to accomplish.
Our "Community Tree of Life " program is free outreach training provided both locally and nationally at partnering activities centers and community colleges.

Our M.I. Awakening Program (“MY” Awakening) provides schools, organizations and other non-profit agencies the opportunity to offer their participants emotional intelligence, social awareness skills as well as self-paced online career certifications and diplomas online using a cloud-based platform that is in-step with societies current and more preferred form of eLearning.
Our "C.w.H.I.P. Program (Children who have incarcerated parents) is a support function that provides children with the opportunity to meet and bond with other children in similar positions in life as well as young adults who can share stories of survival and coping skills.
